Casa/Hacienda El Encuentro is constructed on the remains of a 16th century hacienda, using traditional Zapotec building techniques to work with the adobe, river stones and wood that the house is made of. It is a beautiful, out of the way place, where quiet and natural balance is an integral part of the atmosphere, In addition to our sixteen guest rooms and comfortable dinning room, we have several different meeting rooms, a large lawn for hosting events, fountains, a pool, a traditional sweat-lodge, a massage room, and a very large scenic hall with a beautiful wooden floor, delightful for all sorts of different gatherings. El Encuentro is an ideal meeting place for workshops, retreats, family gatherings and all sorts of special events, as in addition to its natural beauty, we do our best to adjust to the special needs of our guests. 20 minutes from the center of Oaxaca City, the entire Valley of Oaxaca and all its attractions are within easy reach !
