The home is located directly across from the 18th fairway of the Elkhorn Golf Course, beside the bike path that runs throughout the valley, very near a stop on the free bus route, less than a mile from Dollar Mountain ski lifts and a 10 minute drive from the River Run ski lifts. In the winter Elkhorn maintains a cross country ski trail on the golf course which is accessible directly across the street from the house.
The home is thoroughly “wired” with wireless internet, extended cable service, and unlimited domestic long distance calling. There are two 61” plasma screen TV’s, one in the Media Room off the kitchen and the other in the Master Bedroom, both of which also have VCR and DVD players. (In addition the Media Room audio/visual complex includes a laser disk player, including 100 laser disks of classic movies, concerts, full length operas, and many other selections.) There are also three smaller flat screen TV’s in the house and another easily portable DVD player.
Upon entering this spacious home you step into a gracious entryway leading into the formal living room with its cathedral ceilings, game table, large fireplace, and fabulous audio system that includes a library of 1500 CD’s. On one side of the living room is a library with full bath. On the other is the formal dining room that comfortably seats 10-12 and overlooks the wrap-around deck and patio.
The gourmet kitchen with granite countertops throughout includes 2 dishwashers, 2 ovens, microwave, 5-burner gas stove, wine cooler, and side-by-side refrigerator/freezer. A breakfast bar seats 3 and a separate breakfast “nook” seats 6 at a round glass table.
On the deck off the kitchen there are both a gas grill and a Big Green Egg smoker/grill.
The Media Room, with a leather sectional sofa and another fireplace, is off of the kitchen, and just outside on the deck is a large hot tub. Also off the kitchen is the laundry room with a full sized washer and dryer and another full bathroom with a shower. The house includes a three car garage; usually only one or two of the spaces are available to guests.
Upstairs are five bedrooms and three baths. The Master Bedroom has a king-sized bed, a huge walk-in closet, a 61” plasma TV with extensive components, as mentioned before. The master bath has a large jetted tub, a steam shower (with stereo speakers!), two vanities, and beautiful views – perfect for a true spa experience. Off the master bedroom is a sunroom that is unfurnished but can serve as a children’s playroom.
The “second” master bedroom also has a king-sized bed, a private bath, a TV, and gorgeous mountain views. In its large walk-in closet are stored a baby gate and a portable crib, if needed.
The third bedroom has a queen sized bed and its own private deck. It shares the hall bath (which has double sinks, a combination tub/shower, and a bidet) with the fourth bedroom which has three twin beds. Two of the twins can be bridged into a king sized bed. This fourth bedroom has a 20” flat screen TV.
The fifth bedroom is a smaller room located near the main Master bedroom and has a trundle daybed, perfect for two children.
Use of the house includes free access to the Elkhorn’s pools, tennis courts, and playgrounds. There is an additional charge for golf.
